1. The moisture absorption mechanism of activated carbon

Activated carbon has a highly developed pore system (surface area 500–1500 m²/g). These pores can adsorb water vapor and other gas molecules onto their surface. This process is physical adsorption, not chemically absorbing moisture like CaCl₂.
